Tips from the Groom
Tips from the groom, Shayan
- Keep track of everything – A wedding is a massive undertaking and things can get carried away quickly. Make sure you’re tracking everything either digitally (spreadsheet) or through a conventional wedding planner. It’ll save you time and money.
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help – if you’re planning your own wedding, don’t hesitate to reach out for help from your family and/or wedding party. You have a supporting cast of loved ones around you who will gladly lend a hand.
- Don’t look back: Once you’ve settled (and paid) for a service, don’t look back on it. As in, don’t compare other services to it after the fact. Be happy with what you’ve chosen, knowing you’ve done your due diligence. Hindsight in this case, can be your enemy.
- Don’t forget, you’re still a couple – Best piece of advice I can give is to remember to take time for yourself and your bride to be. Don’t stop dating. It’s easy to get bogged down with venue visits and service provider meetings; let alone seeing the costs mount up. All this aside, there’s no price you can put on maintaining your relationship during the planning process. Go to dinner, watch a movie, have a date. You’ll thank yourself later.
