Spring: A Sunshine State of Mind

I hope you are in good health and able to take advantage of the joy that accompanies Spring.

Why Family is Important

Family provides a foundation of love, support and guidance. It’s where we learn values, share experiences, and navigate life’s challenges. I was the 8th child in a family of 10 children. My mom and dad were the best parents you could ever have. Sadly, our family suffered a tragic loss in February.

My sister, Bérengère lost her husband, and her daughters lost their father. Richard Bouchard, our brother-in-law, was hit by a wheel that wasn’t properly secured on a truck. He passed away in Saint-Prime on February 10, 2025 at the age of 85 years. Richard was very involved in the parish guard of Saint-Prime,  and in many area organizations. He was a 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus, a special level of membership focusing on patriotism and faith. This has been a difficult time for everyone. This year we decided to celebrate Easter by visiting our niece Mandy, and her husband, Christopher in Aylmer. We enjoyed seeing them and their two children.

My father-in-law, close to 98 years young, absolutely loved seeing his granddaughter, her husband and their two children – a little girl of 7 in August, and a little boy of 4 years old. My husband, George, and I also enjoy spending time with our family. Every Tuesday, we take great pleasure and pride in picking up our grandchildren from school. We bring them back to our home and take care of them for a short time. They love their after-school snacks, playing games, colouring, and watching kids’ TV shows. Their parents join us after work and also enjoy breaking bread with us. I wouldn’t trade these times for the world.

RIP Richard Enjoy the season!
